About the Hyundai IONIQ 9
For all the popularity of midsize three-row SUVs, very few manufacturers have attempted to offer an electric one. Advanced Electric Drivetrain
A vehicle that's as versatile and functional in its design as the IONQ 9 needs a drivetrain that's equally remarkable. The electric drivetrain in the IONIQ 9 is available in three different configurations. The first is a rear-wheel drive setup that produces 215 horsepower from a single motor. The Long Range AWD drivetrain adds a second motor to power the front wheels, and boosts total system output to 303 horsepower. For those who want a bit more power, the Performance AWD drivetrain uses two 211-horsepower motors for a system total of 422 horsepower. If the naming of the AWD drivetrains has you worried that you have to sacrifice range for performance, there is some good news: the difference is minimal. The Performance drivetrain delivers up to 311 miles of range, while the Long Range gets up to 320 miles. The rear-wheel drive configuration delivers the highest range, at 335 miles. But the beauty of the IONIQ 9 is that all of those range numbers are excellent, and you can choose whichever one would suit you best without having to fret about making a compromise in range.
Functional Design
Hyundai sets a high bar for mainstream automotive design, with trendsetting designs that are years ahead of competitors. So it's no surprise that the IONIQ 9 looks downright futuristic. Hyundai has also managed to avoid the pitfall of the design becoming gimmicky, and the IONIQ 9 is as functional as it is good-looking. The LED exterior lighting has a retro-futuristic, cool pixilated look, while the projector headlights provide unbeatable nighttime visibility. The front fascia also houses a host of sensors that make available driver assist features like Surround View Monitor (SVM), Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2), and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist possible. 19-inch wheels come standard, with available options up to 21 inches. And even with generous legroom for all three rows, the IONIQ 9 still comes with an impressive 21.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, or up to 86.9 cubic feet with the back two rows folded down.
Comfortable Interior
The big news about the interior of the IONIQ 9 is that it has three rows of seats, but don't let that fact cause you to lose sight of all of the other things that make the interior fantastic. Heated front seats come standard, and heated and ventilated 1st- and 2nd-row seats are available, along with a heated steering wheel. A 12.3-inch touchscreen with onboard navigation comes standard, which works nicely with the available Bose® Premium Audio System. A wireless phone charger comes standard, along with seven USB-C charging ports and two 12-volt power outlets. There is a 12.3-inch driver's information display, which includes the EV Technology Display. And with available active noise cancellation, you can enjoy the incredible luxury of a quiet cabin.
