Shopping for an affordable vehicle can be tricky. You don't want something with just a low starting price, since a low price and good value aren't always the same thing. However, excellent value for money is what Hyundai does best, so it's not difficult to find a great Hyundai model in whichever segment you're shopping for. There are also a few standouts for when affordability is the top priority, but let's review some vehicles that have a lot to offer with what would be considered "no frills" by other manufacturers.

2025 Hyundai Venue
- Starting at $20,200 MSRP*
- 1.6-liter engine producing 121 horsepower
- 29 mpg city / 32 mpg highway / 31 mpg combined**
- Max cargo space of 31.9 cubic feet
- Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)
- Wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®
Key Features
The Venue isn't just the most affordable vehicle in the Hyundai lineup, it is the lowest-priced SUV available for sale in the US from any manufacturer. This city-friendly subcompact might be small, but it offers a massive value for money. Standard Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® along with an 8-inch touchscreen give you a full range of infotainment features, and the standard safety tech is well above what comes standard even in the more expensive competition. Even opting for the top trim doesn't add much to the price, and it comes with things like dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and all-LED exterior lighting. A surprisingly large cargo area adds even more functionality to the Venue, a rare quality in a city vehicle.

2025 Hyundai Elantra
- Starting at $22,125 MSRP*
- 2.0-liter engine producing 147 horsepower
- 32 mpg city / 41 mpg highway / 36 mpg combined**
- Dual-LED Projector headlights
- 6-way adjustable driver seat including height adjustment
- Available N Line performance trim
Key Features
You would never guess that the Elantra is such an affordable vehicle with its sophisticated looks and tons of standard equipment. But that's part of what makes the Elantra such an outstanding value, along with things like impressive fuel economy and a spacious interior. If you're looking to avoid the gas station for longer periods, there is a hybrid version of the Elantra as well, which gives you even better fuel economy and is also remarkably affordable. And that's not just affordable for a hybrid, the price is also lower than a number of non-hybrid competitors. Alternatively, if you're looking for a bit more performance without breaking the bank, the Elantra N Line comes with a 201-horsepower engine, a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and bigger brakes, all for a couple thousand less than a Honda Civic Si.

2025 Hyundai Kona Electric
- Starting at $32,975 MSRP*
- All-electric drivetrain with up to 201 horsepower
- 129 MPGe city / 103 MPGe highway / 116 MPGe combined**
- Up to 261 miles range
- Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC) with Stop & Go
- 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen
- Heated bodycolor or gloss black side mirrors
Key Features
In standard form, the Kona is already an incredible value, slotting in just above the Venue. So it's fitting that the Kona Electric is one the most affordable electric vehicles on the market. The only lower-priced option is the Nissan Leaf, which offers meager savings in exchange for a massive reduction in both power and range. The Kona Electric hits the sweet spot of great range, plenty of power, and a long list of standard features. Some of these features are things that would cost extra even on a high-priced luxury vehicle, and the fact that the Kona Electric comes with standard Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC) with Stop & Go, or a fully digital 12.3-inch gauge cluster, is genuinely remarkable. Hyundai builds exceptionally efficient electric vehicles, and the Kona Electric is an excellent example of how this efficiency translates into a superior value for money.

2025 Hyundai Elantra N
- Starting at $34,350 MSRP*
- 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 276 horsepower
- 6-speed manual transmission or N 8-speed Wet Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) with paddle shifters
- Launch Control
- 14.2-inch ventilated front brake rotors
- Heated N Light Sport bucket seats with illuminated N Logo (leather-trimmed w. Alcantara®)
Key Features
Performance vehicles probably aren't the first thing you think of when it comes to affordable transportation, but if a performance vehicle is what you're in the market for, the Elantra N is an outstanding value. In the world of compact sport sedans, the closest competitor to the Elantra N is the Honda Civic Type R, even though it costs roughly $10,000 more and is slower to 60 mph than a DCT-equipped Elantra N. The Civic Type R also doesn't come with creature comforts like heated front seats, even as an option, while they're standard on the Elantra N. That's a massive advantage for the Elantra N, and it illustrates just how committed Hyundai is to offering the best value across a wide range of segments. Sport compacts might not be as popular as they once were, but Hyundai is maintaining this segment in the spirit it was intended, an affordable means of having fun.
